Enhanced Operation of Apex Filter Press Pumps with VFD Technology for Precision Control
Apex Filter Press Pumps from UAE Pump and Dredge are engineered to accommodate a wide range of filter press sizes. They are equipped with cutting-edge Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technology. This system allows variable speed operation, starting with high flow rates and low pressure, to support early-stage filter cake formation. This crucial step helps prevent the premature clogging of filter cloths by avoiding the immediate buildup of a dense solids layer.
As the filter press fills, the VFD controller works in sync with the pump to automatically and progressively increase feed pressure. The pressure ramp-up is customizable, depending on the slurry composition and solids concentration, ensuring optimal filtration results.
Typically, the filtration cycle starts at a low pressure of 25 PSI and increases gradually up to a shut-off point near 100 PSI, based on the specific requirements of the filter press. Once the target pressure is reached, the pump automatically shuts off to prevent over-pressurization.
This automated pressure regulation enhances both filtration efficiency and filter cloth lifespan by reducing clogging and maintaining consistent filtration quality.
